The eAirRail Conference is an interactive two-day event designed to provide air and air-rail operators as well as rail and air-rail stations with a complete resource for marketing automation developments. The airline industry has largely automated its ticketing, sales, marketing, as well as many interactions with passengers. Many air-rail and rail operators have not yet fully embraced electronic automation to cut their costs, meet their passengers’ needs and increase efficiencies.
Much like the acclaimed E-Conference for airlines, eAirRail Conference examines key areas of marketing automation in three half-day business modules
and a 4th module encompassing a site visit to Dusseldorf Airport and Airport Rail Station to see many of the concepts discussed in the conference at work:
Module 1: eDistribution
This module will explore methods for passenger rail operators to effectively distribute their product worldwide for a reasonable cost. What distribution options exist such as: GDS, the web, or SMS for rail and air-rail operators to distribute their product globally and cost-effectively?
Module 2: eTicketing
This module will examine what passenger rail operators must do to eliminate paper tickets. By 2008, airlines will have standard industry-wide interlineable e-tickets, greatly reducing printing, accounting and administration costs. Many air-rail and rail operators are currently pursuing “ticketless” solutions, which neither eliminate paper from the back office, nor eliminate the need for the passenger to carry printed documentation. What options exist for rail operators to truly eliminate paper tickets and automate corresponding back-office and accounting work to increase their competitiveness?
Module 3: eCommerce
This module will highlight new marketing technologies available to air-rail and rail operators such as CRM, public transport information systems, and the Internet, allowing them to cut costs and increase sales while increasing customer satisfaction. What new technologies exist for rail operators to automate and improve passenger interactions and sales?
Module 4: Technology in Action
We will visit Dusseldorf Airport and the Dusseldorf Airport Train Station to see many of the concepts discussed in the conference first-hand.
