A Mega Award recognizes marketing campaign and product development excellence by Airlines and Vendors. Awards are also given for individual professional accomplishment. Recognized commercial areas include: Loyalty, Social Media, Ancillary Revenue/ Merchandising campaigns launched and/or executed in the calendar year 2009 will be considered by the Mega Awards Judging Academy.

Evaluation Process for "Mega Awards"

Winners of a Mega Award are decided by a Judging Academy comprised of airline and travel industry media. The academy evaluates entries based on four criteria: 1. Branding (For entries pertaining to loyalty, social media, and ancillary products & services), 2. Strategy, 3. Innovation, 4. Results (Financial and customer appeal)

Judges are required to follow an evaluative process that ranks each entry by the aforementioned criteria, each section having a 10 point ranking scale. Entries accumulating the most evaluation points per award category wins that category. Tiebreakers are determined by a majority vote among academy members.

Popular Voting Process for "Peoples Choice"
Survey polls were set up on a public version of this award page and the social media experts from SATISFLY and Simpliflying worked Twitter, Facebook and other channels to rock the vote. Two Mega catagories were put to the public vote: "Best loyalty campaign for an airline", and "Best airline in Social Media".
