With a great turnout, exciting products and worldclass pitches, this Virtual Lions' Den was the place to hear about some of the latest solutions to enable airlines and travel companies to protect themselves from fraud and improve payment processes.

This fast-paced session, took place on-line on Wednesday, May 20th, and featured 4 innovative companies pitching their ancillary revenue-related solutions for 5 minutes each to our esteemed panel of "Lions" (judges), all of whom have extensive payments experience. The pitching companies then faced 5 minutes of questioning by the Lions. At the end of the pitches, the Lions chose the Best Pitch and the Best Product of the day.

Our Ringmaster
Wendy Ward is Senior Vice-President of Marketing & Communications at Universal Air Travel Plan (UATP) where she provides leadership and support to team members to develop integrated global marketing initiatives. As the head of marketing for the company which launched the world’s first charge card and launched alternative forms of payment in many airlines, Wendy also brings deep payment industry experience to this session.

The Lions

Madeleine Anderson has been the Executive Chair of Ai Events' conferences in 2019 and 2020. She ran British Airways' Executive Club and has done work for many other airlines from Jet2.com to Emirates, as well as for hotel brands and retailers, including launching their co-branded credit cards. She brought to this Lions Den decades of experience selecting vendors for airlines and travel companies.

Laurie Gablehouse is Global Head of Travel Solutions at Ingenico ePayments, responsible for strategy & payment solutions for airlines, hospitality, OTA's & other travel related services. She worked for 27 years in eCommerce at Continental Airlines, later working after its merger with United Airlines as a Consultant. Her consulting then went on to include work for many airlines and technology providers, particularly in payments & fraud prevention.

Forest
Zach Ornelas leads UATP's Network Sales department as VP of Global Network Sales. In this role, he is responsible for the promotion and expansion of UATP’s Charge Card Network, along with managing new and existing Shareholder and Merchant relationships. Zach has 20 years of payments experience with companies including American Express, MSTS and Point to Point.
